As an entire collection, Alisoun’s artwork expresses her interest in market definitions, local identity, and cultural rituals. For every project, she explores neighborhoods, photographing restaurant windows, butcher shops, and a host of food displays. Subsequently, her drawings reflect her conventional use of photography, cityscapes, and urban language from graffiti to neon signs. Inches from the paper, Alisoun draws by seeing colour shapes thus her chalk pastels have a component of modern Abstraction, while they clearly follow in the tradition of Genre Art- expressing scenes from every day life.
